The beginning of the week

After the busy weekend it is once again time to get back to work.

Monday basically consisted of getting to know the used software better as well as understanding the way the employees usually work, such as certain tricks to solve an issue. That was just until 11:00AM, because that was when we got out to get lunch(bit early though). Anyway, in the afternoon I worked independently on learning the basics of the used programming language. As the afternoon passed, we returned to Dan's place and have dinner. We watched some TV in the evening, so basically relax a bit.

Tuesday wasn't very different from Monday, but I was assigned a new task. I had to figure out whether or not there is a connection between certain topics of posts placed on the company's blog/Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn page and the attention it gets by means of high amount of likes/comments on those posts by looking at the competitor's social media pages as well as StarTex'. At first I had to figure out how to do it, once that was done, it was a matter of continuing to analyse posts. The aim was to find a pattern, such as similarities or whatsoever, in order for the company to take advantage of those findings. I wanted to prepare lasagne, but unfortunately there were no gluten free lasagne sheets available :/ So we improvised instead. Sjoerd and Dan's girlfriend came over for the evening to have dinner, which was great actually.

I continued working on the social media analysis, it was just a matter of arranging the data clearly in an Excel sheet as I have not yet fully mastered XML (a language solely used to store data). Learing that language will be the next task on my list.
Oh I have also included some pictures, they can be found in the 'Foto's' section. The pictures of NASA and the beach as well as Downtown are included, just have a look. I'll post another update in a couple of days.
