After the first two days, it was time to get to know Houston and its vicinity. That's why Dan, Sjoerd and I made plans for the weekend. It started off on Saturday, during which we went to NASA together to check out the large rockets and space shuttles and so on. It was very impressive to see how the technology of the early stage of space exploration transformed to the one it is today. We spent a couple of hours there before Dan wanted Sjoerd and me to taste the Mexican cuisine, therefore we were 'obliged' (not really obliged, I wanted to try it out as well) to a Mexican restaurant for lunch, the proportions were huge, but the food was nice though. Anyway, after that we went to beach and walked along the shore for an hour or so. In the evening we made plans for Sunday.

As Dan had plans already with his girlfriend for the day, Sjoerd and I went to Downtown Houston, which is characterised by its tall buildings and busy traffic. I had to go to an arts museum for a school assignment... So that's why we went to Menil, a museum with various art pieces of several artists, including Dali. The place wasn't very exciting, but I was glad I had another cultural activity done. Luckily, once we got outside we actually went for a walk through Downtown. It was quite hot, so we went for a drink at a restaurant and sat there for a while. After that we decided to leave downtown to go to the cinema, it was one of those American-size cinemas with lots of movies. We watched the movie 'Criminal', there was a lot of action etc. so that was good. Whenever you have one of those saturday evenings off and watch a movie, I'd definitely recommend this one. In the eveing Sjoerd went to his hotel while I relaxed at Dan's place.
A new week is up ahead, so let's get back to work.
